It's been a long time coming ...  That's the story of this tax season for some filers who haven't been able to file tax returns due to the IRS being unable to accept certain forms that affect millions of tax payers. The wait is almost over!The Internal Revenue Service has announced that it will begin accepting Form 4562 Depreciation & Ammortization on Sunday, February 10. This affects many taxpayers who may be filing with rental property or auto expenses as well as many other situations where you are required to file Form 4562 to claim depreciation or mileage. Another key federal tax return item that is affecting taxpayers in Deer Park, la Porte, and Pasadena, Texas is Form 8863 that deals with education credits. The IRS is announcing that it will begin accepting returns that contain Form 8863 starting Valentine's Day! Good news for students filing tax returns! According to Accounting Today, “This step clears the way for almost all taxpayers to start filing their tax returns for 2012,” the IRS wrote in a statement. “These forms affected the largest groups of taxpayers who weren’t able to file following the January 30 opening of the 2013 tax season.” Gary's Local Tax Service in Deer Park, TX is accepting returns with those forms now. We will file them as soon as the IRS opens those doors stated above. |
